NOVAGAN is a spin-off of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). The company was incorporated in 2009. Our innovative technologies were developed in the Institute of Quantum Electronics and Photonics (LASPE).

The activity of NOVAGAN is focused on the fabrication of unique III-nitride semiconductor epiwafers used for the fabrication of devices such as UV-Blue laser diodes and high frequency/power electronics. NOVAGAN is the first supplier of AlInN products both for electronic and photonic applications.

Contract wafer manufacturing is a fundamental business strategy. Indeed, maintaining a wafer fabrication facility and developing state-of-the-art technologies require large investments. Outsourcing wafer manufacturing allows our customers to reduce their financial and technological risks and to re-allocate capital on the added value sector of the business chain.

The epitaxy process is one of the most critical and expensive parts of the manufacturing chain, especially for III-Nitride semiconductors. The highest level of expertise is now required to take advantage of the major technology developed in the recent years.
